How many times have you heard this Psalm? Do you truly believe it? Let's examine what it truly means. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever." Psalm 23
You're probably so familiar with it that it's almost lost meaning, so let's re-examine it. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Jesus will provide for all your needs. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He brings you to the places where you need to go. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. He leads you Spiritually where you need to go. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. God becomes our Protector in times of trouble. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. God blesses His People even when people want to do wrong to them. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever." God will always be with us as Believers. |
