Why have we changed our logo? There are several reasons that we did:
We also have a more neutral logo that is used for social media that needs a square photo: It is a change that may take a bit to get used to, but we know that this change will help us in the future as we plan our other future programs.
"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it" Mark 8:35.
19 years and 11 months ago, a tragedy happened in the US. Terrorists ran planes into buildings, killing thousands. Thousands more would have died, were it not for the brave firefighters (and other first responders) that went in to rescue the perishing. This is one of the closest illustrations to Mark 8:35 that we probably could have. It's not an exact parallel, but there are few exact parallels possible. As Christians, we're called to fulfill the Great Commission (found in Matthew 28:18-20). We're called to go to the other side of the street or the other side of the world to help others hear the Good News, the Gospel, that is the only thing that can rescue the perishing. "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.' Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For Jews request a sign, and Greeks [Gentiles] seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks [Gentiles] foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks [Gentiles], Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men" (1 Corinthians 1:18-25). God, who sees, will reward those who are faithful.
