Proverbs 28:27

“He who gives to the poor will not lack, but he who hides his eyes will have many curses”  Proverbs 28:27.

God has given us what we have so that we can bless others.  There are many passages that talk about helping the poor, but do we really believe those verses, or do we ignore those that we don’t like, believe, or understand?

Isn’t it ironic?  The one that gives won’t lack.  That sounds paradoxical in nature, doesn’t it?  We think of the ones that don’t give are the ones who have, but in God’s economy, it’s those who are generous that end up receiving back (even if it ends up only being rewards in Heaven).

Yet, the Bible also tells us not to announce what we are doing, or we will lose the reward (but we shouldn’t do it for the reward but rather because we want to help).
