There's a story told about a man who had too many worries to think about. He had so many worries that he decided one day to find someone to do his worrying for him. When he finally found the man for the job, he was going to pay him $1,000 a month to do the worrying for him. However, due to a distrust of such a job (and being worried he wouldn't get paid for the job), he asked to be paid his monthly salary a month in advance. "Well," the man said, "I don't have the money yet. This is your first thing to worry about."
While it's such a strange illustration, it brings to light the fact that we have someone who will carry all of our burdens (including worries) for free. We have to give all our worries over to Jesus, as He's the one who will give us the burdenless life that we desparately want. Even during this pandemic, we can pray to Him, and He will hear us and answer us. "[Cast] all your care upon Him, for He cares for you," 1 Peter 5:7. |
