This week, remember that God doesn't make mistakes. We can mess up, we can fail God, but He doesn't fail us EVER. Let's give thanks to Him for everything we have.
Psalm 145:1-3 (NKJV) says, "I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable."
"God, I thank You for Your faithfulness to us, even when we don't deserve it. Please help us to become more like You, faithful in what we do."
Thank you so much to our financial partners. We look forward to starting our first children's home this year, but we do need more help to do so.
If you can give monthly or annually, please help by donating. If you'd rather pledge and then start giving once we start the children's home, you can also choose to pledge a monthly amount.
Could you please help us by sharing the blog post, as that would help us greatly!
We've created a new resource to help you learn about Potter's House Ministries and to share what programs we're offering.
Since our last blog update (before the coronavirus lockdown), we had presented our plans to purchase land and build our children's homes there. However, due to a desire to get started quicker, we are changing to a plan of renting an apartment for each children's home (for the moment) to help expedite the children's homes project. Below, you can see the percentage breakdown of the costs.
The total amount we'll need for the first children's home is approximately $5,000 USD. The total, as you see above, includes salaries and the rent for the apartment.
Please consider helping us monthly with this project. Each children's home will hold between 3-4 children. We do plan to also continue the afterschool program, but details are not ready about that at the moment (and we're not decided yet when that will restart). Please be in prayer for these two projects (as well as the other two projects we plan to start in the future).
If you'd like to help support our ministry monthly, please check out our donation page (World Outreach Ministries helps handle our donor management): https://worldoutreach.org/716
We are pleased to announce that our Afterschool program started last November and now we're starting phase 1 of a 3-phase construction process. Phase 1 starts with fundraising for a large project - purchasing land and constructing our first children's home and the office.
We are trusting that God will provide the finances over the next year, as we will be purchasing the land in April 2021. Please let your Churches know about this large project we have planned here in Romania. By the end of the 3-phase project, here's what will be happening on our campus and in the city of Târgu Mureş, Romania:
1. A fully-running afterschool program
2. A food distribution program for families and widows in need
3. A job preparation program for parents who don't have a job
4. 3 children's homes housing a total of 18 children
Beyond the one-time needs, we also will be having monthly expenses to take care of during this time and beyond it. Please also pray that these needs will be met. But, above all, please pray that God uses this ministry to bless those in need and grants salvation to those who are using our programs.
A few years ago, my wife and I felt led to start something, at the time we thought it would be an orphanage (however, orphanages aren't allowed now here in Romania).
Go forward a couple of years, and in 2019 we finally made it happen by starting a Christian non-profit organization here in Romania. Potter's House Ministries was started last year. In November 2019, we started an afterschool program. However, now we are looking for support for purchasing land and building 3 children's homes by 2023.
Would you consider supporting our ministry? We also eventually would like to host mission teams here in Târgu Mureş, România (an office and missionary housing is part of the funds we are raising support for, so eventually you'd be able to stay on the campus for the mission trip). Here are more details about our project plans:
Lord-willing, in a few weeks, we will be a legally recognized association in Romania. We have paperwork to get to a lawyer, who will take care of the rest of the process, then we find out whether or not it is accepted as an association in Romania.
We are at the beginning of the process for starting the association (and the Children's Home). Please pray for us, as this is a large endeavor. We thank you for all the prayer and support we can get! Please pray especially for longevity for us, as it takes a lot of preparation.
